Fitting End.

With the conclusion of the State meet, the 2017 season has come to a close. A big thanks to all of you Chesty Lions who endured the harsh temperatures and brisk winds to come out and support Evann. She put forth an awesome effort traversing the 5-kilometer course in 21:36.9 and turning a page on her running career. With Track season only a few short months away, it'll be exciting to see how her cross country season has shaped her and strengthened her.

The State meet brings out the absolute best runners from the all around and gaining this experience will only help us as a team as we gear up for the 2018 season next summer. Those of you who are underclassmen and witnessed just how awesome the State meet can be, it's time to start putting the positive thoughts in your head of "My team and I are going to be at the State meet next year, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to do that" instead of listening to any negative voices in your head telling you otherwise.

We hope everyone has a great winter, and to those who are doing basketball or bowling or wrestling or swimming, best of luck. Those of you not in a winter sport, Coach Koster is looking forward to doing some winter miles with you in preparation for Track. And do not shy away from winter training, it will come in handy so you aren't starting from square one.

Live long and prosper.
